To Grandma's House

While Andrew has been busy, I've gotten to spend some precious last minute time with my Grandma and extended family. While Kimberly was in town we drove down together. We made a late start leaving, but thankfully Kimberly has Wee wees for the car (aka dual portable DVD players, Madeleine has just taken to calling them Wee wees and I think it's hysterical!!!) so the kids had fun watching movies as Kimberly and I were able to spend some quality sister time together.

We had a lot of fun hanging out at Grandma's house and also got to spend some time at the beach. I mentioned before that my Grandma is technology savvy and here's my proof!

She's one hot grandma, this picture doesn't even do her justice!

Almost every time we go to visit we spend a little time at the cemetery that  my Granddaddy was buried.

My Grandma makes my favorite crowder peas and we stuff ourselves on a yummy Sunday dinner, this time it was porkchops and for some reason her brownies always taste the best even if I do them the exact same way. I love that my Grandma remembers the things that I like to make sure they are there when we come down, we also got our signature powdered donuts for breakfast.

We also made a stop at Barbara Jeans for lunch and I took the restless kids outside.

Father's Day 2009

I don't have any pictures from Andrew opening his Father's Day presents because he was in his unmentionables, but the tradition we started last year was to give him a new tie for every Father's Day. We actually didn't think he would be in town, but at the last minute he was. I had already made plans to be with my dad for Father's Day because I thought Andrew would be out of town, he was a good sport to skip the dinner with his dad, but we did make a late appearance at his sister's to give his dad a hug.

I am so grateful for my husband, my dad, and my dad-in-law for all they do for me and Madeleine.

Dad opening his Father's Day card, you can see that Madeleine put her own special touch on the back.

I love my family!

Poor man's swimming pool...

Both mine and Andrew's parent's have pools, but sometimes the hassle of leaving home makes me wish I just had my own private pool. Walmart solved that with my $15 pool. The only problem is I can't stand it to get nasty in between swims so I dump it after every use which makes the refill water COLD! Oh well, I bring out Madeleine's bath toys and she still loves to play outside.

Cupcake Pops

Bakerella has a great tutorial for cupcake pops. I've been wanting to try this for a while. The night before Katelyn left, I dove in. It took FOREVER!!! Well, maybe it's because I'm not a baker and don't have the patience for baking, it seemed to take forever to me. They were cute, but I had to take pictures as I see it being a long time before I make them again (I can hear Andrew saying "AMEN to that!").
